Christmas Scenario

Emmanuel-- God with us.

I got all packed up today to head out for a lovely retreat to Toronto with family.
Christmas time is great. I like it. I know a whole lot of people dread it because of the stress bit, but, well, I like it.

My favorite scenario:

Christmas jazz playing (or the Charlie Brown Christmas album..)
Candles lit
Oil burner lit, nice fragrance like... Cinnamon or Cranberry
Toasty inside
Cold outside
Snow falling
Tree lit
Dim lights
snuggling around with those you love

(Cace, I know you can relate. I hope you are having a lovely Christmas, remember keep on imagining snow all around.)

Nice. What's your favorite Christmas scenario?

Shalom.

A grateful heart

Today I woke up and cleaned a friends house.
I have really appreciated the generosity of some people that I have been helping out lately.

Went I arrived at this friends house to clean today, I was welcomed with a card and a gift sitting on the kitchen table.
Also yesterday I was babysitting for a family and the Mother came home, gave me a Christmas card with 2 gifts in there. They aren't even really close friends or family. I am grateful.

Ah yes, I also wanted to share a quote with you that I heard from my husband today as he was reading a new book:
(Um, it probably isn't exactly what it said BUT the gist is there...)

"Jesus went through misery in order to go out and do ministry."

I like this bold comment.
What do you think?

Shalom.

Fire for the Heart

Well, this is it, a new beginning, a place for thoughts.

My heart has been going through some changes lately. The LORD graciously placed His finger on my heart and showed me some areas that we could work on refining. Of course it is hard to swallow; but it is from my Abba, the one who knows best, so I listen, obey and walk though the fire.

You see the LORD showed me a picture of a heart covered with tree bark. I shared this picture with others at a Prayer Meeting as a word for every one there. Then the LORD showed me the bark on MY heart, this is where the refining needs to take place. In me.

I'm open to the LORD's leading and His refining. It's quite freeing to have the LORD of all creation clean off my heart. It's quite humbling, I must say. He's willing to get His hands dirty with my messes. I'm humbled.

I'm in a good place... encased in the LORD's hands in the fire. More and more LORD...
Thank you Abba.

Shalom.
